My personal favorite beach is Hermosa, a beautiful spread out beach without the large crowds and worries of parking. This is a clean beach familiar to locals with a peaceful pier to walk on alongside local coffee shops and restaurants. Hermosa is a romantic and secluded getaway among the Los Angeles beaches. If you prefer more of the popular landmarks, Huntington and Marina beach are also two common beaches to check out.

Let’s get hiking... Eaton Canyon is an intermediate 4 mile hike (roundtrip) with a waterfall destination located in the city of Altadena. This hike is filled with green lush and rivers (thank you LA rain!) leading you to a surprising waterfall you would never think existed in the city of Los Angeles. On the plus side, parking is easy and free… so go explore and have some fun with your date at Eaton Canyon! Find another hike at Inspiration Point, with many various trails leading up to this point it can be more on the challenging side (about 10 mi round trip) but way worth the view. Concluding the hikes, Chantry Flats is a popular hike and also a national park requiring an adventure pass. There are lots of various trails and scenic views to explore through this 4 mile (round trip) hike.

Huntington Library is a wonderland full of  a large variety of pretty gardens, monuments, art, and landscape. It is the perfect Valentine’s date to take those you love to enjoy the different plants, lakes, and culture. You will find Japanese and Chinese gardens within the area as well as famous historical pieces. The Huntington Library will be open Valentine’s Weekend (Feb 10-12) and will have a special Valentine’s three course meal for two called "Dîner Saint Valentin Pour Deux" after hours. Every first Thursday of the month is free with advance tickets, so book them early if you would like to visit, otherwise entrance fee is $23 for adults on the weekdays. Descanso Gardens and Arcadia Arboretum are also two great choices if you and your date prefer something a little smaller to walk around in, but nonetheless, they both feature lots of lovely green & floral landscapes (look for the peacocks in the Arcadia Arboretum!).

Melt away into LA’s night sky at the Griffith Observatory. Both a monument for a place to learn about science and to view the night sky, it definitely places number one on my personal list. The Griffith features different exhibits and telescopes you can use to see the stunning overview of the city stars. The observatory is located on the slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, parking and entry are both free (bonus!). If you and your date would like an attraction to view during the daytime, check out LACMA or the Getty Villa, two very popular museums with endless art to look at.
